In an attempt to restore confidence in flat roofing systems, some manufactures and some contractors are able to offer extended insurance backed guarantees. In large commercial installations these can be for as long as twenty years. In residential installations these are usually shorter; typically ten or fifteen years. However, make sure that any guarantee is covered by independent insurance. Without it your guarantee is only any use to you whilst the roofing company remains in business.
